Vehicles in Germany's Town Found Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Authorities stated they were contacted by a man who noticed a car in Hanau covered with red-colored substance

Around fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Automobiles, building surfaces and mailboxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a release.

Law enforcement state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish substance.

The substance had been applied in the pattern of a swastika, they added.

Law enforcement then located many other vandalized vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement state preliminary tests suggest the substance was likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no lead as to its source; authorities are not yet informed of any harm in relation with the occurrence," they commented.

City officials stated they were working "to resolve the mystery" and have asked to the community for details.

A high-ranking political figure commented the vandalism made him without words and had to be addressed rapidly.

"This act hits the center of Hanau and revives the wounds of the far-right terrorist attack half a decade ago," he wrote on online, recalling the death of nine individuals by a shooter targeting individuals of migrant background in February 2020.
